Tonight’s (Dec. 3) special televised event of The Wiz Live! has definitely left many of viewers in awe.

The live telecast demonstrated an array of tremendous talent within its all star cast by not only living up to the “hype”, but exceeding expectations as I knew it would.

The excellent adaption of the 1975 Broadway musical, and classic 1978 film lead by then “Black Hollywood” royalty, which at the time included legends Diana Ross, Nipsey Russell and Michael Jackson, The Wiz Live! stage play delivered!

With the recent uproar that has plagued social media regarding the “ALL BLACK CAST” being the center of controversy prior to the production even airing, it is with great pleasure, and I’m sure high viewership, that the current praise being witnessed around the same social media that tried to dim its light is nothing but greatness being cemented into BLACK musical history. Can we say TONY awards for all! The cast was marvelous!

Newcomer Shanice Williams (Dorothy) may have been introduced tonight, but I am certain this will not be the last that her name and talent is mentioned.
