Bring Your Halloween House Party to Life TheNV October 23, 2015 Halloween Halloween happens to be one of my favorite times of the year. Playing dress up will always bring out the kid in anyone, no matter your age; and if you have children, the excitement level of using a child(ren) as an excuse to “make-over” yourself, even for just one night, is highly adorned. With Trick-or-Treating not being what it used to be, and with kids now forced to collect their “forbidden” treats from places like the mall, walking from store to store in a well lit hallway (now doesn’t that just scream Halloween — *sarcasm*), I would say that the spirit of Halloween has definitely lost its’ mojo…I would rather host a house party to have a good time with friends and family. In my quest to create a memorable and epic Halloween party this year, I’ve come across some great ideas to get my party planning underway… Here are a few: Create the “Spirit of Halloween” at the front door with a mish mash of various items in an over-sized planter to represent a witch pot. Shave the top of hotdogs to resembles fingernails and place into hotdog buns as severed fingers. Utilize ketchup to represent blood. Popcorn and Candy Corn in surgical gloves make for an inexpensive & easy display of hands on the junk food table, while also providing a NEAT way to supply treats to your guests without having to serve. The traditional pumpkin never loses any functionality in terms of Halloween. Cut open a large pumpkin and clean out the inside. Place a glass bowl inside to host party beverages with ice to keep cold. The placement of a random fake eyeball in your pre-existing home floral displays bring in that spooky feeling that Halloween tends to generate.
