Coming off his “Glory” Oscar win from the feature film Selma, Common’s star and career continues to rise to new levels.

Word on the street is that the rapper turned actor has joined the cast of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. The film will star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Viola Davis, Will Smith and Jared Leto following a group of super villains forced to go on missions for the government agency in exchange for commuted sentences.

He’ll also feature in the Rob Reiner’s film titled Being Charlie, about an 18-year-old rehab escapee who meets an equally troubled young woman.

But first to hit theaters is said to be his role in Run All Night alongside Liam Neeson, Hunter Killer and Billy Bob Thornton.

I love seeing great things come to incredible yet humble talent. Congratulations Common!
